Rice cracker-Potato gratin. Simply delicious.

Potato was wanted for dinner last Saturday. I agreed, but didn't want to do pretty much fight with it like I did last week, and I was too lazy to look for recipes for potato! Then I just sliced them out for gratin. Easy, delicious, and fresh-because it has rice cracker at the bottom :D It transformed into food let's say chewy macaroni thingy. The smell of rice cracker is amazing and perfectly matching with shrimp (underneath the potato slices).
If you wonder if this was seriously working out, I say yes, let me cook you one. Once you bite it, outer corner crispy-potatoes, shrimp, and the chewy-ly melted rice crackers crush together in your mouth and the smell of tiny basil flakes spread out right away.... Simply, yummy. John couldn't help asking me for another portion. He loved it, and so did I. Trust me.

Potatoes (ジャガイモ) Medium size 2
Garlic (ニンニク 1欠片) 1 piece chopped
Onion (Mサイズ玉ねぎ 薄くスライス) 1. Medium size thinly sliced
Frozen shrimp (エビ 食べたいだけ) as much as you want to eat. (until it hides the bottom of the baking dish) 
Rice cracker (煎餅・おかき) 1 package. (I used sea food flavored cracker. It was amazing)
Cube/Powder Bouillon (コンソメ2個) 2 pieces or 2 teaspoon

Pizza cheese flakes (ピザ用チーズ) 100~200g
Dry basil flakes for topping. (乾燥バジル 少々)
[White sauce]-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All-purpose flour (小麦粉 大さじ3) 3 tablespoon
Milk (牛乳) 400cc
Butter (バター) 30g
* Heat a sauce pan and melt butter completely over low heat. Add flour and mix it up very well restlessly. When it gets all clotty, pour all milk and keep stirring it until smooth and thickened without take any rest..even if your arm gets worn out.

1 Microwave shrimp for 2~3 minutes. Just slightly defrost.

2 Heat a small pan with a teaspoon of olive oil or sunflower oil, dump chopped garlic to fry till golden.

3  Brown sliced onion and add shrimp.

4 When shrimp turns warm orange color, sprinkle Cube/Powder Bouillon over and mix well.

5 This is the rice crackers I used. Make them into 1/2 inch, 1cm size.

6 Layer [1] white sauce, [2] rice cracker, [3] pizza cheese, [4] shrimps, [5] white sauce.

7 Lay potato slices and another pizza cheese layer to finish it. 

8 Preheat oven at 400F/200C and back it for 20 min. Scatter basil flakes. Serve immediately.
