A Chocolate Chiffon Cake

After I cooked dinner I baked a chocolate cake, thinking that he'd like it. 

A chiffon cake. 

It just disappears in your mouth once you have it. 

When I bake a cake for birthdays or anniversary, nothing but chiffon comes to celebrate it. It's just better than other cakes in any way. Softer, moister, richer, more flavorful, feels fragile and elegant at once.

Greek dinner on one Saturday night

On 13th, Saturday evening we got together with Anni, Jan's younger sister who just came back from NYC and Boston trip. 

She lives in a town ca. 40 min-drive away from us but she stayed her parents house to rest the night and we decided to eat outside that day. 

We get a few chance to meet.

30th June Exam

The reason I moved back to Germany in the late Spring is for this exam even though the school starts in Fall.

The subjects I had to take were English, Math, and German.

I couldn't just help wondering why they test even mathematics even though it's a language school... But I had to study for it anyway.

Earlier this year I had bought 2 of mathematics exercise books for the first high school year. I'd completely forgotten the existence of "absolute value"... Do you?

I started to study as if I saw the numbers and characters for the first time.

Some smoke almost started to come out of my head everyday. "I can't remember how I did this..." No matter how many times I read the explanation of its solution I just can't get it.

People say "you just remember how to solve it as it is" but I, just, can't, get it.

But I can learn like that when I studied English. "Because you learn the language. It's the way it is". This works for some and doesn't for others. Math is however available worldwide no matter which language you learn with and it should be understandable for everyone lol

My brain isn't for math for sure. It had just been like a torture until 30th June was over.

We had 2 hours for each subject and the first one was English at 8:10-10:10.

Some grammatical questions, complete blanks (at, in, to, on, from), true or false, essay and stuff.

It was easy. You wouldn't even need to study for it.

Then Math at 10:30-12:30.

I died. I am SO worried if I've passed it. I will know the results on 8th, Friday.

If, IF I failed, I would have to take a speaking test in German.

The last one, German was at 13:30-15:30.

2 hours just for an essay.

I died again. Thank you for making me write an essay who speaks baby German.

There were only 5, including me, who took the test and the 4 of them were German. LOL

They want to study at University like me too.

At this school, though I called it a language school, you can get a permission to go on study for University.

For foreigners, it's like that you have to get certain score to continue study such as TOEFL.

They must've either not passed the exam to continue study for University when they fished high schools or not taken it and started to work and now want to study again.

Anyway, thank God the exam is over. There's nothing more I can do for it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I will get a good news.

I'm on the plane to Tokyo now to spend one month with my family and friends.

24th June Lake

It had been very hot days and this day the temperature went up to 38 degrees.

Earlier this day Jan and I were walking towards the gym and I joked that we could go swimming.

It was till June and I was of course not ready for swimming but Jan took it seriously and asked me "why not?"

And this didn't sound bad to me so we ended up driving to the lake in the forest.

It had been a while since I bathed in the water outside as I can't even remember last time I went to a beach in Summer.

After we put sunscreens all over our bodies I was looking at the lake and and couldn't bring myself to go ahead and start to swim yet while Jan was just waiting for me to decide to go..

We got a place on the grass in the sun on an upper hill and went down to the water surface. I dipped my toes in the water.

The water was a lot colder than I expected....but I expected it'd feel cold.

He kept walking into the water and I was desperate saying "don't leave me alone! Lol"

I guess we (Jan was waiting for me) stayed there the very shallow spot for about 5 minutes until I finally made it to swim.

Sooooo refreshing!!

I was holding Lufthansa buoy while making Jan swim the entire time. Haha

The water was sparkling, the sun was giving it Summer warmth, airplanes were flying just above our heads and people were having fun in the water.

In a while we swam back to the hill and laid in the sun. We didn't bring anything to eat and this gave me a reason to ask him for snack ;)

I've got Currywurst (sausages and sauce seasoned with curry powder) and french flies.

Just wonder why ordinary food taste so good outside?

After we had the snack we went back to swim once more. We couldn't stay longer as Jan had standby from mid afternoon for a flight but it was about 2 hour of nice stay.

Day 4-World Management Congress 2016 - Goodbyes

Last day, 12th, started with some chaotic issues at the hotel lobby that was crowded with all Asian guests wanting to check out…

Check out time was at 12:00, which also ends my contract for this time. I only needed to help our team check out noon and see off, then I got to be free. 

There were however those who wanted to check out earlier and go to the city for the last sightseeing. I woke up at 10:00, had not noticed my alarm rang, put a quick  makeup on and went downstairs to help them out. I didn't oversleep as we didn't make an appointment time but missed breakfast for the last chance. Oh well..

In a while, everyone checked out, I gathered taxis and saw them off wishing them a safe flight back to Japan. Mission completed.

Our President invited me for lunch two days before and I was really looking forward to it. This is something what you can work hard for. 

最終日12日の朝は早速カオスな状況からスタートしました。ホテルロビーがチェックアウトしたいアジア人で溢れていてホテルスタッフもイライラが顔に出てました笑

最終チェックアウトは12:00で、私も皆さんのチェックアウトが完了したら帰宅でOKということだったので特に朝は急ぐ必要はありませんでした。

しかし早くチェックアウトしてフライトまでの自由時間をまた街で過ごしたいという人はもちろんいたため10時に起きて急いで化粧して下に降りました。

一応アラームはセットしたのに全く聞こえず朝食も逃しちゃいました。トホホ。。

しばらくし皆さんをチェックアウトさせ、タクシーかき集めてお見送りし無事終了。任務完了です。

2日前に社長からお昼一緒に食べようと招待されたのでこの後タクシーで街に出ました。

Day 3-World Management Congress 2016 - Honors and Full motivation

3rd day! On 11th, it was pretty tough to wake up at 6 since I got to go to bed at 1am last two days. 

As I never fail to miss breakfast, I went downstairs and had nice one with a couple of coffee. 

We got together at the lobby at 8:30 and headed out for the even hall by bus again. 

I got to reunite with her who I've worked with since I got hired. It was so nice to see her again.

三日目の11日。この2日ベッドに入ったのが夜中1時過ぎだったので起きるのが若干苦でした笑

朝食は絶対に抜かない派なのでしっかりいただき全員集合で8:30にバスにて出発。

昨日はずっと一緒に仕事をしていた彼女と久しぶりに再会して仕事の大変さは吹っ飛びました!
