Weekend in Idar Oberstein イダーオバーシュタインでの週末

Last weekend (from 5th to 7th) Jan and I visited his sister Anni the whole weekend in Idar Oberstein. Last time I came here was 3 years ago, when I flew to Germany for the first time, I was amazed by each scene and I knew at the same time that I'd come back here. 

Nothing's changed here from 3 years ago but one different thing is that I speak German now :) 

So I got to know more people and enjoy everything around me.

The breakfast was so ideal for me, outside in breeze, and many activities in nature.
The better my German gets, the more I appreciate this place I live. So much fun in Summer :D

先々週末(5日から7日まで)、ルクセンブルク国境そばのイダーオバーシュタイン(ドイツ国内)に住むジョンの妹のアニ(アニちゃんて呼んでます)の家に宿泊してきました。
私が住んでる街ラウンハイム(フランクフルト近く)からもっと西方です。
前回イダーオバーシュタインに来たのは3年前の夏、ドイツに旅行に来た時。自然の大さと、古城の美しさに圧倒されっぱなしだったの覚えてます。
その頃と何も変わってないけど、唯一変わったのは今私はドイツ語が話せること。^ ^

朝は木々に囲まれて鳥のさえずりと一緒に朝食。自然の中でのたくさんのアクティビティ。言葉が話せれば話せるだけ、もっと行く場所も住む場所でも楽しめるっていうのを実感中。夏楽し〜!^ ^

Weekend in Michelstadt 週末にミシェルシュタット行ってきました

On 12th, Friday we came to Michelstadt for the first time in 2 years. The biggest reason we drove up here was to go to the Greek restaurant named KRETA that made us so impressed by Greek beautiful appetizer called Pikilia (2 years ago in Michelstadt). 

Despite our expectation (to have the same plate), their Pikilia has got way smaller and the baguette was so dried up. 

There is a nice Greek restaurant in Raunheim where we live though that has Pikilia and it beat this Michelstadt one now. We were sure KRETA's Pikilia was the best one that we've had but no more. That's a pity! You can see the difference after click on SEE MORE.

As soon as we started to walk through the streets, I found such a cute shop that sells small articles, like candles, lanterns, mugs, dishes, cutlery, and so on. Though we just entered it and didn't buy anything, I made it taking some photos :) 

Then we got nougat as small snack at a Tea shop and enjoyed a stroll. Before we drove back home, we got some bread and nice honey for the next morning. How was your weekend? Hope you had good one!

12日金曜日に、2年ぶりにオーデンフォレストの中の街、ミシェルシュタットに行ってきました(2年前のブログ)。ここに来た一番の目的は、前回見つけたギリシャレストランのピキリアという前菜(メイン並みに大きいので食べるのはこの前菜だけ)を食べること! でも期待を裏切られ、めちゃくちゃ小さくなっていて、セットのパンもパサパサ。えー。って萎え萎えになりました。(下に写真比較あるので見てね)　私たちが住んでるラウンハイムにおいしいピキリアを出してくれるギリシャレストランがあるんだけど、前回このミシェルシュタットで食べたのはうんと大きくて相当感動したから私たちの中で一番だったんだけどねぇ。今回のだったら、地元のピキリアの方が全然マシ。てわけでもう行かないと思います。

通りを歩き始めてから、超かわいい小物ショップを発見。何も買わなかったんだけどバレないように写真撮っちゃった笑

その後傍にあった紅茶屋さんでヌガーをお菓子として買ってひたすらぷらぷら。帰る前にパン屋さんで翌朝に食べるパンとハチミツを買って終了。楽しい週末でした♡

Attending exchange meeting between Japan and Germany 交流会に出席

On 2nd. July, I've got an opportunity to attend an exchange meeting taken place in my city.
It's because my mom in law belongs to a political party, I had heard that they'd hold a welcome party for a Japanese administration group that's visiting Germany and that has had friendship with my city, and I've heard that I would receive invitation as I am Japanese.
BUT, I've gotten no invitation card or letter after all and my dad in law and I had planned to chill out and have ice cream while she attends the event on that day.
I finished small dinner and was relaxing on the sofa in almost-like pajama, I got phone call from him that I have to attend that party and come immediately. LOL
I got dressed in seconds and ran up there.
The party ended up so cool. I got to see an interpreter in person who's taking care of my school documents that I have to submit to University, got to join traditional Summer dance of Japan (Bon-odori), and got to know some politicians.

今月2日に、市政主催の交流会に出席してきました。義理の母が政党に入っているので、今住んでる町と石川県白山市が長くから交流があり、今回市長始めとする市政の方たちが来るということは聞いてました。(まさか嫁いだ先の町が日本と交流があるなんで予想もしなかったけど。)で、私が日本人だから招待されると聞いていたのに結局何もお便りを頂かず、あー一般ぴーぽーのあたしはやっぱ無理かーと諦め、ジョンのお父さんとアイス食べに行こうとか変な予定を立ててました。2日の夕方、ジョンはフライトがあって成田に居て私は家に一人だったので軽く夕飯を済まし、アイスを食べに行くまでの時間潰しをしよかな〜なんてくつろいでました。そしたら急に電話が来て、すぐに出席するように、と(!)。
無茶すぎる。。すぐに着替えて靴擦れおこしながらも走って会場へ。(近くて助かった)
会は終始和やかなムードに包まれ、笑いの耐えないステキな時間になりました。
光栄にも、今私の高校の書面の面倒をみてくださっている公認通訳翻訳士の方とお会いすることができ、感激。
他にも行政の方たちと顔見知りになれたり、東京音頭を踊れたりと楽しい時間でした。
こういったイベントに関わるのもいいなぁ。(写真☟☟☟☟)

Last couple of days before flying back 帰国までの数日

On 22nd, my grandma, mom and I went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. Since my grandma has started to live all alone after closing her (and grandpa's who's in heaven) Tofu shop, the feeling I care about her has got bigger and it makes me message her a lot more often. Though I stayed in Japan for a week and a few days this time, I got to see her twice. On this day I first came to her house by train and my mom caught up with us after finishing work at noon (only for this day because I was leaving). 

Guys, if you haven't seen real Japanese food, here are the detail in the menu. So colorful (of course no artificial pigments), beautifully dished up, and always healthy. If you ever find a Japanese restaurant, try their food that only made by real Japanese staffs, not other foreigners! 

On 23rd, we made a quick stop at my dad's bike shop. Sadly the dog that lies down on the floor passed away in the same evening, some hours after we left there, though, we had a chance to see him trying to look at us and breathing. 

My mom and Haruka saw me off at Narita airport and then I met up with my hubby who had off day. 

We had dinner at Thai restaurant and he flew back to Germany one day earlier than me. 

I found an ornamental hairpin that's called Kanzashi as a souvenir for myself. 

22日は世田谷のババとお昼ご飯! 長年経営してた豆腐屋を閉めてすぐにジジが亡くなってから一人暮らしを始めて、私はかなり彼女にメールしたり、帰国したらすぐ会いに行くようになった。72歳の今もバリバリ運転して動き回るけど、やっぱり完全に一人となると気になるよね。っていう訳で、今回の滞在は一週間とちょっとだけだったけど、2回会えた。

最初電車で私が家に行って、後から昼で仕事切り上げて帰ってきたお母さんが合流。

藍屋で美味しいランチ♡もうほんっとに和食ってキレイで美味しくて最高。

翌日23日はお父さんのバイクショップにはるかと寄ってぐだり。悲しいことに、床に寝てた犬が、私たちが帰った数時間後に息を引き取ってしまったんだけど、ちょっとの時間ふれあえた。お母さんとはるかに成田まで送ってもらったあと、オフだったジョンに再会。

翌日ジョンは一日早くドイツに戻り、私は空港そばのホテルで一泊。

朝顔の絵が入ったトンボ玉のかんざしを自分へのお土産にして帰りました。

2nd week in Japan 帰国2週目

On 16th June, my mom and I drove to Yuzawa city, Niigata, where is home of my dad and I grew up and saw my grandparents, my cousin, and my aunt. Fortunately, even after the divorce of my parents, I get to see them from time to time and have a great time as their grandchild. 

As you can see the photos below (click "SEE MORE"), my hometown has full of nature, clear air and water, best rice in Japan (because of water), and people that make you feel home. Here's always nice to come back to relax (or maybe to forget work haha). 

My mom and I had as late lunch/ early dinner "Hegi-soba" which is popular and famous soba in this region and well known for a large portion with tempura that's a must. 

It tastes simply aaaaamazing and heaven. 

On 19th, my mom, Haruka, and I went out to a Hawaiian restaurant for dinner. My mom and Haruka have found that restaurant after they moved there the past February and haven't tried it yet. So we gave it a try and enjoyed it. Enjoy photos :) 

6月16日に、母と新潟の湯沢に行ってきました。ジジ・ババ・おばさんと従弟(息子)にあえて楽しい時間を過ごしました。幸運にも、両親が離婚したのにも関わらずこうやって私が帰国すれば父方の家族に会える環境があって幸せだな〜なんて思います。孫だからいいしね。

少しずつ変わりつつある田舎も、やっぱりこうして帰って来ると「あ〜懐かしい〜。変わってない〜」なんていろいろ思い出しながら田んぼ道歩いたりとかして、子どもの頃にすっかり戻ったような気分になります。甘い空気、水、魚沼の米。田舎なんて最悪なんて文句たれつつも、今思えば最高の環境で育った。帰って来る場所があるっていいね。

遅い昼ご飯兼早い夕飯てことで、地元で有名なへぎ蕎麦を食べました。量が多くても有名。腹くっちぇー。

19日は家の近くにあるハワイアンレストランではるかと母と3人で夕飯。

この後勢いで横浜屋でラーメン笑 ちゃんとお腹空いてないと美味しさが薄れるね。次回は空腹時に来ます。。

Quick Return 一週間の帰国

From 11th. June till 25th. June I was back in Japan. As I thought that I wouldn't have enough time to return home any more once I start going to school again in September and I couldn't see my family in the end of this year, I decided to make 2nd return to Japan to spend time with them. As a surprise ;) 

I've told my mom though that I'll fly back as I needed her to pick me up at the airport but both my brother and sister never knew that I'd show up suddenly in the house. 

Here are photos I took from coming flight on 11th. Tuesday until the first weekend of 15th and 16th. 

Marina, who's my best friend that I've known since we were 3 years old, was the only person I got to meet in this short stay. We met in Shinjuku, had lunch, enjoyed 4 flavors of Baskin Robbins ice creams, and made Puri-kura (photo sticker) as always.

先月11日(到着12日)から25日までの一週間程度日本に帰国していました。9月からまた学校に行き始めたら忙しくなって年末家族に会えないと思い、チケット取って年始以来二回目の帰国をしたわけです。サプライズでね ;)
お母さんには話してあったのですが弟と妹には内緒だったので、反応が楽しみでしょうがなく、お母さんも黙ってるのかなり頑張ったみたい笑

3歳からの親友のまりにだけ、今回会えました。時差ボケで寝れない&日本時間日中激眠い上に湿気の高さ&天気の差で帰る前に体調がよくなくって、誰かに声かけて遊ぶのは控えました。
